The Tk'emlups Indian Band hosted the initial gathering in May of 1999. At this gathering of 27 Lands Managers from across British Columbia, FNA4LM was formed by consensus of the participants. The participants believed it was important to have a regional technical association for the purposes of providing capacity building, training and expertise in the area of lands management for Lands Managers.
FNA4LM consists of a growing number of members working in the lands management field and an elected Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meet on a regular basis to discuss and plan workshops and other events throughout the year. Training is tailored to FNA4LM members, addressing their needs and concerns.
